Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, I graduated from Richard King High School (Go, Mustangs) in 1977 and from what was then Corpus Christi State University in 1981, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with English and history as my teaching fields. I soon added a certificate in composite social studies as well. That same year I married Eddie, my high school sweetheart, and in 1984 we welcomed our daughter Emily. Our family has now grown to include several cats and a miniature dachshund named Otto, too. In 1988 we followed Ed's job with GTE to Wimberley, and I soon began working in WISD as a teacher aide. Four years later I began teaching language arts and reading in the junior high grades, eventually adding GT to my repertoire. I am currently living happily ever after in a Wonderland filled with Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, an assortment of swashbuckling pirates, mythical gods and heroes, and the most amazing characters of all: seventh grade boys and girls.
