My name is Naya Garcia and I am the Spanish and ESL teacher at Danforth Junior High. This is my 29th year to teach! I taught in Falls City for 8 years and this will be my 21st year here in Wimberley. I went to Howard Payne University in Brownwood for a couple of years before coming to Southwest Texas. I retired last summer and will only be working part-time.
My husband, Hector, and I have two grown daughters who went through the WISD school system. Jessica lives in Oklahoma with her family, and Barbara is working as a nurse assistant. She too is married and has a wonderful little boy! We also have a son, Pablo, who is a junior this year. He keeps us busy with band and church.
I love to travel and get to know different cultures. We have been to different places in Mexico, Ecuador, Belize, and of course, the USA. I was fortunate to travel through Puerto Rico this past summer. What beautiful country....
I am excited to see how much our students will learn and grow throughout the year. Thank you for the opportunity to teach them.
